Justin Wadlington

Justin Wadlington is one of Philadelphia's premiere independent artists. His phenomenal talent has built him a rapidly growing fanbase around the world. But he is more than just another talented artist-- Justin has had to overcome enormous obstacles to survive.

Having lost both parents as a young child, he was raised in Southwest Philadelphia by his grandmother. At age 5, after a tragic accident, Justin was left with vision in only one eye. He had to endure multiple surgeries but none were able to restore his vision. As a teenager he was sent to live in various group homes, and had to undergo even more eye surgery. In his twenties,  more personal tragedy and loss depleted his artistic passion for 8 years.  That is, until he decided to regain control of his destiny.  Through all of these obstacles, Justin's resilience and determination helped him overcome great adversity by channeling his energy and focus into art.

Any one who knows Justin will tell you-- at an athletic 6'5"-- he is one of the most gentle people you could ever meet, and a devoted and loyal friend despite the hardships he's faced. Justin's story is not one of tragedy and disability, but of the courage and strength of the human spirit. He is a perfect example of a real Philly artist: a rose that grew from concrete.
